Jews around the world should follow the current Israel-Gaza crisis carefully, compassionately, with an eye for nuance, and with a mind open enough to know that the whole truth and the absolute justice never belong strictly to one side.

Should they choose to take part in the inner-Israeli debate, I would very much hope they might help promote moderation, human decency and rational argument, opposing all manner of extremism and verbal violence.
