As part of the Jewish Agency’s ongoing effort to strengthen personal connections between Israeli and Diaspora Jews, veteran Israelis and immigrants from Ethiopia, South America, the former Soviet Union and other countries are sharing their personal stories with Jewish communities around the world. Addressing audiences both in Israel and abroad, speakers discuss their aliyah, the challenges and successes of life in the Jewish state and their experiences during the recent second Lebanon war. All speakers are individuals who have benefited from Jewish Agency programs and services and the support of Jewish communities around the world.

The Faces of Aliyah program, begun in 1997 and run in conjunction with the UJC Speakers Bureau, brings speakers to communities in North America. Other programs send speakers throughout the world to regions including South America and Europe. Groups and missions visiting Israel from abroad can also arrange to hear speakers during their visits.

Soldiers serving in the Israel Defense Forces are also available for speaking engagements. This includes lone, immigrant soldiers who have left their friends, family and loved ones behind to live in and defend Israel. Additionally, those visiting Israel as part of missions from abroad can put together care packages for soldiers. These packages serve as an expression of gratitude and support and are delivered to units throughout the country with the help of the IDF and "Friends of the IDF".
